As a Rotarian, you can attend any other Rotary Club anywhere in the world. There are 49 other Rotary Clubs in District 9810 and many more in Melbourne alone. This is called a `Make Up’
The best way to locate a Rotary Club to visit, particularly if you are away on business is to check the Rotary Website – www.rotary.org and this will list all clubs in an area.

The answer in a general sense is yes. Rotarians are generally expected to attend 50% of club meetings or designated service activities. The 50% can be waived by the Board. Most Rotarians do not find this commitment difficult as they enjoy Rotary and the meetings, they undertake service activities which contribute to their attendance and they also enjoy doing Make-Ups at other clubs. If you are going away and unable to attend Rotary, you apply for Leave of Absence prior to your leave. This equates to a minimum level of 1 meeting per month and 1 other service involvement.

Yes – most clubs distribute a Weekly `Bulletin’ to their members. MASH’s is called `On The Radar’ and is distributed via email to members and Friends of MASH.

We aim to list in `On The Radar’ who is speaking in future weeks in the Calendar and also a profile of the next weeks speaker will be shown in `On The Radar’ and on the Club Website. The Upcoming speakers will be listed here on our website.

The Rotary Club of Mont Albert & Surrey Hills is involved in a number of projects – covering the Four Avenues of Service (Club, Vocational, Community & International). In 2008/9 we provided Dictionaries to all Grade 3 Students throughout Mont Albert & Surrey Hills schools and Beaufort & Trawalla Schools. We have a Rural Relationship established with the township of Beaufort. We have also raised almost $20,000 for Bushfire Relief; have developed and delivered a Small Business & Cottage Industry Seminar Program for the Migrant Information Centre and a “Knitting For The Needy” Project as well as Birthing Kits for Papua New Guinea.

Absolutely yes! You are most welcome to bring along guests at any time. If the guest is a potential member, the club policy is that the club will fund two visits as a guest. Beyond the first two visits, the visitor will then pay for themselves for their meeting. If you have a partner and/or children, they are also most welcome to attend Rotary at any time.

Firstly, the Rotary Club needs to identify your Vocation or Rotary Classification. This is a description of your vocation (such as Banking, Real Estate – Commercial, etc.).
Once this is completed, the person inviting you into the Rotary Club will submit your name to the Membership Chairman who will arrange for it to be presented to the Board Meeting.
Your name is then circulated to all members to identify if they know of any reason that a potential member should not be granted membership.
Once the nomination of the guest has been completed and fully processed, then you will be invited to membership of the Rotary Club and inducted after payment of your fees.
In the circumstance that a member or members have concerns about a proposed member, then this will be considered by the clubs Board before an invitation is extended for membership and the nomination is declined.
