Whitehorse Farmers Market Success

Whitehorse Farmers’ Market has again recorded fantastic support from its local community. Club thanks go to Mick Willis, Jeremy Desmier, Nigel Cooper, Ern Hermeler, and Jenny and Roger Coburn for their contribution to this great fundraiser for our club.

The year 2009/2010 saw the Market celebrate its third birthday in November with the continued steady patronage from the local Whitehorse community.

With a regular group of Vendors at the Market, the year has been one of stabilisation with several other Farmers Markets starting up around the suburbs, which have impacted on both the customers coming to the market and also on the availability of some vendors.

It has been tremendous to hear the positive feedback from many of our vendors including our “Honey Suppliers” from Mildura who come back every month. Located in a great spot at the junction at the top of the market, the reliability of sales and the friendliness of the Whitehorse Farmers Market make it worthwhile to continue to make the trek to Melbourne.

The honey is superb, with wonderful flavours. Why not try it at the next Whitehorse Farmers Market?

At the District 9810 Changeover Dinner held on the evening of July 3, 2010, MASH was privileged to win two District 9810 Awards, namely Best Website and Best Bulletin Award, adding to an already impressive list of awards from previous years as listed below:

We had another stellar year as one of the most active clubs in the district 9810 family. MASH is proud of its non-traditional and social culture that’s been crucial in contributing to the club’s fast growth. Our Rotary Club supports local and overseas projects. We meet on Tuesday evenings at 6.45pm for a 7pm start at Box Hill Institute – Nelson Campus, Room G 32 Ground Floor, Nelson Road, Box Hill 3128. All visitors are sure to receive a warm and friendly welcome. Our online home will tell you about our vision, people, projects and service and hopefully encourage and inspire you to join Rotary! On The Radar is our Weekly Club Newsletter. This is an emailable newsletter prepared by Geraldine Battersby with a focus on projects and upcoming activities with a brief review of the previous weeks’ program. All members are encouraged to forward Geraldine items on upcoming Rotary programs related to MASH and District 9810 for inclusion.

MASH News is a Community Newsletter which is distributed to all homes in the 3127 community (Surrey Hills and Mont Albert). Members distribute the newsletter to the business / offices within the 3127 area.
The Newsletter was originally distributed quarterly, however this year it will be done every four months. The A4 format is prepared and then forwarded to Honorary Rotarian Anna Burke’s office who assist us with the printing at no charge. With a sponsorship of the Newsletter by a local business, the newsletter is distributed at no cost to the club.
